Gym Membership Isn't Included in Part Time tuition
Hello,
I was shocked to find out that my part time undergraduate tuition didn't cover the gym fee, and I think it is discriminatory to students who cannot take full credit hours due to financial hardships, or personal reasons. If I were to pay for a full set of credit hours and then drop some mid-semester, I would be able to go to the gym with out paying the fee. I don't think Mines should be so prejudiced towards students who take full credit hours because they will be paying the same amount over time by the time they are finished as students who finish faster. In fact, they might end up paying more due to tuition hikes over time.

As a part time student you can still purchase a rec center membership. All the full-time students also pay this membership fee. The only difference is that full-time students are required to pay the fee (and are charged automatically), and part-time students have the OPTION to pay the fee (And are not charged automatically). I believe the fee is about 200 dollars.

Thank you for your beef Maya,
The rec center is funded by fees and not tuition. Since only fee paying students have access to services payed for fees, non fee paying students do not have access to use the rec center.
