Separate the CEE Department
I understand that civil and environmental engineers have a lot of overlapping classes; however, the CEE department largely focuses on providing job opportunities, support, and emphasis on the civil engineers only. At job fairs, civil and environmental are put together which results in environmentals thinking that certain companies want us, when really all they want are civils. If the environmentals were actually treated by the school like our own major, it would help with the career fairs and job search tremendously.

Hello,
Sorry it has taken a while to get to you, but I'd love to hear more about your concern. If you want to reach out to me at ethanlewellin@mines.edu to talk about more specifics of what I should bring up I'll do my best to respond to it as soon as I can.

Thank your for your input and I definitely understand your frustration. As a civil, I can definitely see how the department is civil focused. Unfortunately USG is going through transitions right now from the recent elections. I have brought it to Sydney's attention (our current at large to the faculty). She'll put this in her transition documents and the next at large to the faculty, Ethan, will be able to address this.
