Freshman haven't been allowed to park on campus in the past, and that doesn't need to change now. Parking is very close quarters at the moment. Yes, the number of students on campus will decrease, and an added benefit of having the new parking garage will help but it still doesn't change the parking problem drastically. Students on campus don't need a car, and if they do, it's a great motivation to make friends. There are also parking lots near Mines that can be purchased for less than a Mines parking pass, if absolutely necessary, and there are already exceptions for medical/health reasons.
