    Hello!

We’ve been talking with the CIO about this and it looks promising! We will keep you posted on our progress!

    Love,
    USG

    UPDATE:

This is a big topic and CCIT knows students want this. Last year there was not enough time to make the change but this year CCIT is starting earlier so current seniors can have this for when they graduate. USG can not promise this will happen this year but working with CCIT we hope it does.

USG worked hard last year with the LAIS language department to stop certain language classes from being cut. Unfortunately there was a lack of enrollment for some of these classes and the funding moved elsewhere in the LAIS department.

If you feel that the language program should be added to in the future, and not cut, please make a new post and get people to vote for it. USG will fight for you if you show there is a need.

On the other hand, the rigid appointment idea and limited hours make going to the Wellness center extremely difficult in cases of injury (a split foot or biking accident, for example) or sudden illness. I understand that the appointment system is important, but the way walk-ins are handled could be improved, given my experiences of walking in with injuries.
Also, there are students who legitimately have class and work for all of the hours that the Wellness Center operates. Perhaps a schedule with longer hours but more closure time during the day would be a way to compromise this.

    UPDATE:
IT has been accomplished! Both CTLM and Brown now have microwaves. The one in CTLM is by the commons and is useable 24/7. The other is in brown right next to Blaster Brew (the Starbucks) in front of the windows.

USG talked with Sodexo and the heads of different buildings and everyone likes this idea.

More info will go out once this process is further along. Thank you for this idea.

Many departments have a "kitchen" with a microwave. Additionally, the Marquez Hall vending machine room has a microwave. While not universally available, there are microwaves in every building, and one on either side of campus, if that helps.

Below are all the details associated with this issue:

On Thursday, January 15th, Undergraduate Student Government had our first meeting of the semester. The main topic of the evening was Mines Market. With the opening of Mines Market and closure of Slate Café, there were changes in the hours of Digger Den. Mines Market is now open late at night while Digger Den’s hours were cut back. Also the previous to go option where students were allowed to grab anything Slate was offering that day was replaced with a to go sandwich with two sides. This has caused a lot of upset with the campus. As a result, USG asked a few staff members involved in this decision making process to come and speak about why this decision was made and take input on how things could be improved. Rebecca Flintoft, VP of Student Life, Gayle Witzke, Campus Dining, and…
