Talks are in the works of moving towards a more digitized form system with the registrar. This could greatly improve our efficiency and the ease of the process for students. With this being said, conversations have begun, but it will be awhile until a good solution and system is put in place. As we learn more, we will be sure to keep the student body updated!
Thanks,

Not true. Recycling boxes for ink cartridges are located on the 2nd floor of Stratton, in the basement of Guggenheim...probably other places too.

Hello,
That you for your post! Mental health and increased resources has been an initiative of ours this year and we will try our best to begin these conversations over the counseling center.

Hello,
After contacting administration we have been told that the only roses that are given to women graduates happen at the SWE Continuum event, typically the Wednesday night before graduation. This is an event sponsored by SWE for graduating SWE members. Please contact us at minesUSG@gmail.com with further questions. Thanks!

Following further review, the hours were not changed due to the SRC not feeling that it would see enough use during the later hours to have students working during those times. Thank you for your concern and we appreciate you submitting your feedback to us!
Best, USG

I agree with USG on this one. Part of wellness is having good sleep habits, and it is hard on student workers to work late because a small percentage of gym-goers want to work out after midnight.

We understand the issue and have been working on a more viable solution. For now, sanitary products are available for $1.99 in the bookstore. In the future, we are hoping to partner with the health center to have them provided for free.

I completely agree. $1.99 is ridiculous, especially if we are caught at a time without our wallets (it happens!). If the student center can offer condoms for free, then shouldn't they offer tampons as well?
I would like to add that the USG system of voting is not necessarily the answer. Issues that affect women at Mines, such as this one, have a much harder time making it to the top of the list because only 28% of the student body is female and many people might not be aware of how certain issues affect women. So it doesn't get the number of votes, even if the percentage of the female population who have voted on this issue is significant. Is there a better way in addition to voting to getting support on issues?

UPDATE:
USG recently met with the registrar’s office. They are continuing to address this concern in new ways besides the survey. If you disagree or agree please let us know down in the comments or by visiting USG office hours.Love,
USG
___________________________________After the joint focus group between USG, students, and the registrar, we have come up with some solutions:
1) The registrar is developing a survey that will be sent to all students who come into the office for assistance in order to get feedback on whether they completed their job effectively and to the satisfaction of students.
2) The registrar has had two vacant positions recently, putting them slightly behind in processing. Both of these positions should be filled by the end of the month so that they can better address students’ needs.
This is an ongoing process so please continue to leave comments…An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commented
Agreed, I have also had very useless interactions with the registrar. Often I'll ask a question about a prereq, and I am given incorrect information, and I ended up not taking a class this semester because the registrar was not updated on prereqs.
There is an RTD route from the Jeffco station to Mines, BUT I will say when I lived at Golden Ridge, because I had to walk to the stop (which wasn't really that close), then sit on the bus, and the bus got to campus really early, if I had class at 8am, I would need to start walking at 7:15 am to make it to class. This is a 45min commute for a distance of 2 miles... so I drove most days. Also, the buses stop running early in the evening, so if you had evening activities/classes, there was no way to get back. The RTD route to campus is not adequate.
