JUNIOR -- PRINTING
The Petroleum Department makes students print very large (20+ pages) lab reports and papers weekly for several different classes, making students pay a large sum of money every semester on printing. Many students on campus do not have their own printers, but should not be forced to pay so much just to turn in their assignments.
Here are a few possible solutions for this problem.
The Petroleum Department should allot students more than just 100 pages a year for printing, this hardly covers the printing cost. The Chemical Engineering Department gives their students more money and gives them free printing in Alderson.
The school should lower the printing cost. $0.08 is well past the break even point for printing, and the school should not be making a profit off of students just trying to complete their coursework, they already pay a technology fee.
The Petroleum Department should allow all their lab reports and papers to be submitted online instead of physically. Some classes have already started implementing it, and it is working great. This policy could easily be adopted by the rest of the department.
Thanks!
