The Sophomore-Class USG has come up with an official resolution that will be shared with the faculty senate as well as all of the faculty within the next few weeks. Our hope is that this will aid next semester’s grades for sure, and hopefully encourage teacher’s to get their grades out for the end of this semester as well.

I will update after I have taken this issue to the faculty senate and inform you of the keypoints in that conversation. Thanks for being patient, guys!

Currently, the Sophomore-class USG is working on this subject in correspondence with many faculty advisers, and, the At-Large to the Faculty Representative to reach a specific policy to be created. Basically, it will be proposed that professors and/or TAs either get graded assignments back to the students or put on Blackboard within two weeks of the assignment’s due date. Our At-Large to the Faculty rep has taken this to the Faculty Senate and they are in full support of this happening. Currently, the sophomore class student government is taking it on to create a resolution that will eventually be signed by USG and Faculty Senate and sent to the President of the Mines to be signed off on. However, to make an effective resolution, the sophomore class USG would like to hear your exact opinions and concerns with this issue. Our At-Large to the Faculty person took this subject to the Faculty Senate meeting this last Tuesday (January 22). The faculty members will report to their respective departments and in two weeks, at the next meeting, our At-Large will report any updates.
